2017 was the first vintage of Arterra Pinot Gris, which happened to be a stellar year to make its debut. Incredibly aromatic, with sweet orchard fruits, honeysuckle, wildflower honey, and lemon curd on the nose. Those inviting aromas are met with a very crisp and refreshing mineral-driven palate where layers of sweet orchard fruit shine bright, all in a very dry food-friendly style. Pan seared scallops, halibut, roasted poultry, or pork with an apple chutney would all pair beautifully with this impressive wine! Tasted May 2019. 91+ points. Matt Steeves -

This a new entry in the relatively young Arterra portfolio by winemaker Marco Piccoli, now fully dedicated to these wines. It sees four months in French oak and has a full and rich nose of orchard fruits, creamy pear, apricot and underlying spice notes. It’s lush and juicy on the palate with apricots, peach, pear, a lick of honey and spice with a perky/vibrant finish. 91 Points

This is the inaugural release of Arterra pinot gris. It is a mid-weight, fairly smooth and fleshy pinot gris aimed more at Alsatian styling but lacking some richness in that regard. The nose is rather reserved with typical peach pit, white flower and vaguely honeyed notes. It is light to medium weight with moderate gris acidity and some warmth and bitterness on the finish. The length is very good. Understated at the price. Tasted April 2019, 88 Points.

mpressive first kick at the pinot gris can here for Arterra with ambition and style that makes straight ahead use of the barrel. The vanilla, crème caramel and green apple are all wood impressions but with pinot gris they make a real statement. The aromas are headier than the palate which smooths and sails breezy right on through. Admittedly develops and comes more into pinot gris focus, turning toasty nougat-hazelnut, then finishes strong and long. Will work well for crunchy, salty fishes or shrimp dipped in aioli. Drink 2019-2021. Tasted April 2019, 89 Points.
