Vineyard Notes
The Sauvignon Blanc grape originated from France’s Bordeaux and Loire valley
regions. These vines are heat tolerant and grow quickly, requiring consistent
pruning for best results. This Fume Blanc originates from two of the oldest
Beamsville Bench vineyards including the Kew Estate vineyard and a fifty-year-
old vineyard on Mountainview Road.
Winemaker Notes
On the nose, notes of ripe fleshy mango, prickly pear and lychee dominate. The
palate has lovely and inviting energy with a smooth juicy fruit character featuring
notes of grapefruit, apricot blossom and finishes with notes of supple vanilla
florals and baking spice. With 10 months aging in French oak, this wine has a
lengthy finish with a refreshing and vibrant chalky acidity.
Food Pairing Notes
This structured Fume Blanc pairs well with smoked fish, poultry, peppers and
garlic. We like to enjoy this wine with Thai summer rolls, salmon burger and
chips, or a honey-lime mint and melon salad. We believe that cheeses such as
Camembert, Gouda, Gruyere, Parmesan best compliment this wine.
