Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The Jordan Bench component of this wine exhibits vibrant dark cherries, cranberries, black currants and dried rose petal. The Montague vineyard contribution displays a concentration on the palate of fresh strawberry, dried herbs, ripe plum, red licorice, and wet earth. The fruit-forward palate is lush with generous ripe red cherry and strawberry, accentuated with firm tannins, well integrated oak and a lingering, balanced finish.
Vineyard Notes
The mild winter of 2023 transitioned into a warm spring, prompting bud break 1-2 weeks early depending on location. However, hopes for an exceptional vintage waned due to one of the wettest growing seasons on record, heightening disease pressure until September. Conditions shifted in September, offering ideal weather for a classic Niagara vintage. Moderate warmth during the day and cool nights, coupled with minimal rainfall, preserved acidity and freshness in aromatic whites and sparklings, while reds achieved optimal phenolic and flavour ripeness with rich colour accumulation, allowing for selective picking tailored to desired wine styles. Overall a classic Niagara vintage across the board for all wines.
Production Notes
This Pinot Noir comes from two Niagara Peninsula vineyards: Le Clos Jordanne and Talon Ridge. About two-thirds of the fruit was handpicked and destemmed, with whole berries fermented in open-top tanks. After a 72-hour cold soak, natural ambient yeasts completed a 10-day fermentation at ~28°C, followed by 14 days on skins. The wine was aged 18 months in French oak (25% new), with careful barrel selection highlighting the character of each vineyard in the final blend.
Winemaker Notes
The LCJ component of this wine exhibits vibrant maraschino cherries, dried cranberries, pomegranate and dried rose petal. The Talon Ridge shows concentration on the palate of fresh strawberry, dried herbs, ripe plum, red licorice, and wet earth. The fruit-forward palate is lush with generous ripe red cherry and strawberry, accentuated with firm tannins, well-integrated oak and a long, balanced finish.
Food Pairing Notes
This elegant wine shows beautifully when paired with dishes like cedar plank salmon with sauteed fiddleheads, miso glazed baby back ribs, lamb ragoût and baked Brie with maple glazed walnuts.

The absolute best wine we’ve found to date. To be honest, we pretty much gorge on it.
