Tasting Notes
This wine shows a good intensity of juicy grapefruit, lemon and lime, and light grassy
herbal notes, complemented by crisp, lively acidity.
Vineyard Notes
The 2024 vintage began with vines in peak condition, with a mild winter
setting the stage for an early and promising start to the growing season.
A warmer-than-usual spring accelerated bud development, but an April
frost tested vineyards across the Peninsula. Summer brought warmth
and balance, with above-average temperatures and well-timed rainfall
keeping the vines thriving. September and October delivered near-perfect
conditions, with warm days and cool nights allowing for exceptional
ripening. Brief rain showers were never a problem, and all varieties
benefited—especially the reds, which reached outstanding maturity and
depth of flavor. As the cycle closed, the vines returned to dormancy in
pristine condition, setting the foundation for another remarkable vintage.
Production Notes
Grapes were harvested from select vineyards throughout the Niagara
Peninsula for this popular red varietal. Gently crushed upon arrival at
the winery, the grapes were in oculated and fermented at an average
temperature of 26˚C for 10 days until dry. Aged in French and American oak
for 8 months the wine was allowed to go through a complete malo-lactic
fermentation.
Winemaker Notes
This classic style of Sauvignon Blanc has aromatics of citrus and grapefruit,
they integrate well with notes of lime, gooseberry and rich texture on the
palate. Great acidity and lingering tropical fruits makes it a fresh white wine
great for pairing.
Food Pairing Notes
Our Reserve Sauvignon Blanc pairs well with seared scallops, skewered
grilled shrimp in a Thai sauce or with a spinach and goat cheese pizza.
