Tasting Notes
The Grand Reserve Gewürztraminer is a wonderfully aromatic wine, expressing notes of rose petal, lychee and stone fruit. The palate is light and refreshing, showcasing fresh lively melon and citrus flavours that linger on the finish.
Vineyard Notes
Unpredictable weather presented its challenges over this harvest. Record setting temperatures, intermittent drought, high rainfall and humidity were prevalent – Niagara saw it all this year. Our vigilant viticulture team persevered through the season to yield some incredible fruit. Despite the demanding conditions, the 2021 harvest proved to be outstanding for aromatic whites like Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and the fruit for sparkling programs. Although the acids were slightly lower than in previous years, reds showed good phenolic ripeness and we anticipate high quality blends from varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Production Notes
The fruit for this captivating Gewürztraminer comes from our prized Delaine vineyard. The terroir from this vineyard always yields fruit with exceptional varietal expression when harvested at the opportune time. The fruit was destemmed and left on skins for 18 hours prior to pressing and cold fermented at 13 degrees for 20 days.
Winemaker Notes
This wine is lush with notes of Turkish Delight, orange blossom, stone fruit and elderflower aromatics. On the palate, lingering acidity balances perfectly with flavours of rich lemon curd, lychee fruit, rosewater and a crisp, layered finish.
Food Pairing Notes
The 2021 Gewürztraminer is the perfect partner with Asian fusion dishes, ideal with Vindaloo curry with mango chutney, Malaysian coconut Laksa, ginger chili shrimp or Indonesian satay. This wine is refreshingly delightful to sip on its own, too!

A spurb white wine. Very smooth, refreshing. We enjoy a glass when relaxing, as well as with meals
