Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The 2024 growing season began about 2 weeks earlier than usual, with bud
break occurring around May 5th across most of our vineyards. This early start
left some sites vulnerable to frost damage, which hit sporadically across the
peninsula and reduced yields by up to 30% in certain areas. Consistent summer
rains helped alleviate drought stress, setting the stage for a remarkable vintage.
Harvest began in September with hand-picked Pinot Noir for sparkling wine
and moved swiftly through the month. Warm days and cool nights preserved
acidity, while the dry, moderate conditions that followed allowed our bigger
reds to achieve optimal flavour, colour, and phenolic ripeness. The season
wrapped in November and is already being hailed as one of the best.
Production Notes
The fruit for this elegant Riesling came from our prized Talon Ridge vineyard
located on the Vinemount Ridge sub-appellation. Harvested on September
19th, the fruit was destemmed and allowed 12 hours of skin contact prior to
pressing, yielding the perfect extraction of varietal character. Fermentation
proceeded at 13 degrees Celsius for over 2 weeks before being arrested to
capture the perfect balance of sugar and acid freshness. The wine spent 6
months on fine lees in stainless steel prior to bottling July 15th, 2026.
Winemaker Notes
This wine leads with a perfumed fragrance of apple blossom, beeswax,
jasmine, honeysuckle, guava puree, lime zest, and supple apricot and
nectarine. A mouthwatering palate displays racy green apple, lemon curd and
chalky mineral acidity.
Food Pairing Notes
Pairs well with classic ramen with pork and assorted veggies. Grilled veggie
sandwich with hummus, tahini, and candied lemon. Currywurst on garlic naan
with pickled onions and yogurt drizzle.
