Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The 2024 vintage began with vines in peak condition, settling into winter dormancy
strong and healthy. A mild winter meant minimal bud damage, setting the stage for
an early and promising start to the growing season. Spring arrived warmer than
usual, accelerating bud development. But with early bud break comes risk— and a
mid-April frost put vineyards across the Peninsula to the test. Summer brought
warmth and balance. Temperatures soared above average, but well-timed rainfalls
provided just the right amount of moisture, keeping the vines thriving September and
October delivered near-perfect conditions, with warm days and cool nights allowing
for exceptional ripening. Rain was never more than a brief pause, and all varieties
benefited—especially the reds, which reached outstanding maturity and depth of
flavour. As the cycle closed, vines returned to dormancy in pristine condition, setting
the foundation for another remarkable vintage to come.
Production Notes
Grapes for this popular blend came from select vineyards in the Niagara Peninsula.
Upon arrival at the winery the grapes were immediately destemmed and gently
crushed. The juice was allowed to cold settle for 48 hrs before racking and fermenting
cool at 14 C for 15 days. Some sweet reserve Riesling juice was added back to the
finished wine to provide a concentrated aromatic finish.
Winemaker Notes
Intense aromatics of pear, green apples and cirtus are abundeant in this wine. It
presents a nice light gold colour with strong honeydew, melon and peach notes on
the palate with extra sweetness balanced by a strong crisp refreshing acidity. This
Riesling' style is sure to impress on its own or pair with some great dishes.
Food Pairing Notes
This wine is an ideal brunch wine, starting with a cheese and bacon quiches, eggs
benedict. With sides of grilled peaches as well as a tropical fruit salad.
