This popular varietal wine shows good structure with accents of raspberry, cranberry and hints of spice. Fine-grained polished tannins round out this elegant Niagara Gamay.

Production Notes

Grapes for the Gamay are selected from specific vineyards in Niagara. Post-harvest, the fruit is gently destemmed and crushed. From there, the juice is inoculated and allowed to ferment at an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius for ten days. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to new and older French barrels where it is aged for six months, then racked into a stainless steel tank.

Food Pairing Notes

This delightful wine pairs very well with lighter fare such as fresh grilled vegies and a variety of seafood. Also goes well with pizza with zesty tomato sauce and pasta with lively marinara.

We tried this at the winery today and it was absolutely delicious. It was smooth and so ready to drink. Wonderful with the smoked brisket sandwich I had at the Market Grill. I was hoping that Inniskillin would bring a gamay back to their product line and this one didn’t disappoint.
