Thank you to everyone who attended our two sold-out sessions of the Spring Wine Club event on May 31 at Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Winery. Jackson-Triggs 2013 Grand Reserve Pinot Noir
The Grand Reserve Pinot Noir bursts with scents of lush cherry supported by earthiness and hints of crushed rock. The palate has crisp acidity, well-integrated tannins and fresh red fruit flavours. The finish is light, and reminiscent of espresso and baking spices. Our Grand Reserve Pinot Noir is a luscious, elegant wine, versatile for food pairing. The diversity of its characteristics make it the perfect match for a multitude of dishes such as Chicken Marsala or Coq au Vin, braised short-ribs or filet mignon, venison, grilled salmon or roasted duck. NEW RELEASE! Enjoy this wine through until 2018 – consider decanting for an hour or two in its youth.

Jackson-Triggs 2010 Grand Reserve ENTOURAGE Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc
This is a fresh wine with great varietal character and notes of tropical fruit supported by licorice and fresh cut grass. It has a persistent mousse complemented by light toasty notes, with fruit following though from the nose, caressed by fine, bright acidity and a citrusy finish. This elegant vintage of ENTOURAGE Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc is the ideal pairing with avocado, tomato & spinach crêpes, fresh melon, prosciutto & Feta cheese salad, grilled Chilean sea bass and cheeses such as Boursin and Le Roulé. This wine is perfect for summer patio sipping all on its own, too! Enjoy this wine now or cellar it for years to come.

Le Clos Jordanne 2009 Talon Ridge Pinot Noir
This wine was only available for three vintages and we are pleased to share this last vintage as a special ‘library release’ with you. 2009 was a fabulous vintage for Pinot Noir – according to Winemaker Sebastien Jacquey, it was a ‘textbook’ vintage. The nose is intense, pleasant and rich with dark berries, dried fruits, black pepper and mint notes, with additional hints of vanilla, plum and black cherries. This wine is lively and smooth; the palate is rich and concentrated but quite approachable. Notes of wild flowers and humus are also revealed towards the end of the palate. Drink this wine now or continue to cellar it through until 2016.

Inniskillin 2012 Reserve Series Shiraz-Cabernet
Aromas of spice and white pepper, toasted vanilla and dark berry fruit dominate this classic blend. This full bodied wine boasts rich tannins with flavours of black cherry, currant and dark chocolate carrying through to a lingering smooth finish. This wine is perfect for steak and frites or pepper steak; grilled veggies such as zucchini, eggplant and peppers; seared duck breast with a red wine sauce; cocoa dusted beef tenderloin; or a big piece of dark chocolate. Enjoy now or cellar for a few years. Consider decanting if consuming young.

Inniskillin 2013 Reserve Series Viognier
The grapes for this wine came from our own Brae Burn Vineyard. Extreme care was used for this delicate grape: the grapes were hand harvested after extended hang-time; fermentation occurred slowly at a cool temperature; the wines were aged in French oak for a mere 3 months to enhance its seductive bouquet. The Reserve Viognier displays citrus and clove on the nose. On the palate notes of tropical fruit including lemon and orange complement the clean, crisp finish. Try this wine with roasted mushroom soup; grilled eggplant and zucchini ratatouille; hot smoked salmon with tarragon butter; “old school” cloved ham with pineapple; roasted rosemary and citrus chicken; chèvre tart with fine herbs. Enjoy this wine this summer with friends.

Le Clos Jordanne 2011 Claystone Terrace Chardonnay
“Since bottling, this Claystone Terrace Chardonnay is evolving in a positive way so far. I’m glad to see its bouquet gaining is aromatic and complexity to still showcase the true minerality of this wine. Then, the palate is moving to more balance between its elements with no sign of fatigue but just more typical and a real sense of place on its expression.”  Sebastien Jacquey, Winemaker, Le Clos Jordanne This wine will continue to evolve for many more (5-7) years.

Inniskillin 2013 Niagara Estate Series Pinot Noir Rosé
This Pinot Noir Rosé has floral aromatics along with cranberry and a hint of spice.  On the palate, strawberry and rhubarb dominates this crisp, refreshing wine. This is a great summer wine – on the deck, or on the dock! It is also a great match for festive meals; summer salads like watermelon and feta; chilled summer soups; BBQ chicken or pork with applesauce; soft, fresh cheeses like brie with dried or fresh cherries; strawberries with balsamic vinegar and a dollop of crème fraîche. This is a refreshing wine for a hot summer day – Enjoy it this summer!

Jackson-Triggs 2012 Grand Reserve Shiraz
The Grand Reserve Shiraz is full and rich on both the nose and the palate. Red fruit and cherry complement the well integrated oak notes, backed up by chocolate and mocha aromas. On the palate, this wine exhibits bold flavours of cherry and coffee with good weight, rich mouth feel and a lingering finish. Ideal to sip on its own, or paired with barbecued pepper steak, roast duck, butternut squash risotto and aged hard cheeses such as Mimolette. Enjoy this wine through until 2016.

Inniskillin 2012 Reserve Series Merlot
This full bodied Merlot displays vanilla, toast and black currant on the nose while the palate shows a generous mixture of black cherry, ripe plums, leather and spice. Pair this wine with wild mushroom soup with goat cheese and fresh chive; quinoa or barley salad with grilled corn and toasted hazelnuts; flat iron steak with porcini rub; smoked pulled pork or cocoa dusted ribs; enjoy with a piece of dark Ecuadorian chocolate or a caramel hazel nut chocolate truffle. Enjoy this wine now through until 2017

Inniskillin 2012 Reserve Series Pinot Gris
This 2012 Reserve Pinot Gris has aromatics of peach, citrus and honey. The round, balanced palate provides flavours of tropical fruit, citrus and vanilla. Floral and lime notes accented by a hint of spice are carried through a long smooth finish. This wine would be an excellent when paired with roasted halibut with papaya and carrot sauce; pasta with grilled vegetables; grilled chicken breast with a mango salsa; truffle cauliflower soup. Enjoy this wine this summer with friends!

Jackson-Triggs 2012 Grand Reserve Sauvignon Blanc
Light and refreshing this Grand Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is overflowing with citrus and tropical fruits on the nose with underlying tones of lemongrass and herbs. Flavours on the palate are crisp with bright acidity and a fresh lengthy citrus finish. Refreshing and extremely versatile, this wine matches brilliantly with grilled seafood & light fish, fresh garden salads, steamed asparagus, grilled pork & chicken and a variety of pasta dishes. Enjoy this wine through 2015.

Jackson-Triggs 2012 Grand Reserve Riesling
This Riesling is a refreshing wine with prominent notes of citrus, followed by ripe stonefruit and hints of wet rock. The palate has a crisp and lively acidity and dominant citrus flavours; overall this Riesling shows great balance and a clean zesty finish. This wine pairs well with a group of friends and a great conversation! Enjoy this wine now through until the end of summer 2016.

Jackson-Triggs 2011 Delaine Cabernet-Merlot
The Delaine Vineyard Cabernet Merlot boasts elegant dark fruit and earthy notes with hints of spice and oak on the nose. The palate is both round and structured offering a velvety texture and lasting chocolate cherry finish. The Delaine Vineyard Cabernet Merlot is an elegant yet complex, structured red wine. It is complemented best when served with dishes such as grilled, roasted or braised red meats, wild game (try venison with wild mushroom- truffle sauce), hearty stews, and well-aged cheeses. This wine is delicious now, but will continue to evolve for the next five years.

Jackson-Triggs 2010 Grand Reserve ENTOURAGE Sparkling Merlot
Lively and fruit forward, this interesting sparkling wine has prominent ripe red fruit notes, complemented by hints of chocolate and espresso. A full persistent mousse is supported by supple tannin and a concentrated finish, lingering with hints of dark chocolate. This very unique sparkling wine is bursting with ripe berry characteristics - try it with dishes like salmon cakes with roasted garlic aioli, roasted chicken, bacon & goat cheese salad, barbecued ribs and pizza. Mild to medium cheeses work best with this wine and with desserts where ripe, red fruit is highlighted. Enjoy this wine through 2017.

Inniskillin 2012 Sparkling Vidal Icewine 375ml
Exotic fruit aromatics as well as peach, orange and honey dominate the nose of this unique Icewine. Citrus, mango, lychee and pineapple balanced by a crisp acidity and lively effervescence round out this Inniskillin classic. The bubbles of the Sparkling Vidal Icewine offer a fresh, drier sensation to allow great versatility with food. Endless pairings! Greet your guests with this surprise reception wine while pairing it with a variety of appetizers from foie gras to fresh oysters! It is wonderful with spicy dishes; tuna tartar with fresh chili and tempura blue crab with mango and cucumber salsa; rich cheeses from brie to blue; fresh fruit desserts and great with crème brûlée. This wine is best enjoyed in its youth – within the next 2-3 years.

Inniskillin 2012 Riesling Icewine 200ml
Aromatics of fresh orange, spice, lemon and lime intrigue the nose, while the palate is rich and lush with concentrated flavours of peach, apricot and hints of clove, balanced by a crisp and lively acidity. Riesling Icewine is a versatile food match from savory cheeses with fruit chutneys such as Brie with lavender honey; firm aged Cheddar or your favourite paté with pear and peach chutney; to seared scallops with apple celery slaw or classic baked apples. Icewines have incredible age ability – and will evolve and develop for at least 10 years.

Inniskillin 2012 Vidal Icewine 200ml
Intense aromatics of mango, apricot and honey are beautifully integrated with flavous of peach and candied brown sugar. This wine is all held together by crisp bold acidity. Blue veined cheese with dried fruit or fresh peaches or pears; roasted chicken with grilled peaches; fresh papaya and lime salsa with grilled white fish; traditional peach pie are traditional, yet delicious food pairings. Enjoy now through 2020.
